I would describe my art as a kind of visual poetry or music expressed through the energy and vibration of colour, form, rhythm and design. The themes span a variety of subjects and styles …. from urban realism, often snapshot glimpses of fleeting images, to figurative works and portraits counterpointed by landscapes, or the internal dialogue of abstract expressionism. The transition from realism to abstraction is no big stretch for me …. simply a matter of perspective and personal engagement with my viewpoint looking outward or inward. I often enjoy mixing styles in a whimsical, pop-art fashion by juxtaposing identifiable subjects into fantastical backgrounds. I see simplicity in complexity, harmony in dissonance, a design in chaos, beauty in the mundane. I hope the viewer will feel a connection to the joy and passion I invest into my art.
